World War II Memorial

This is a transcript of the narration for a short video I put together about the World War II Memorial after visiting Washington, D.C. in June of 2017.  Visit my Facebook page if you would like to view the video: www.facebook.com/dcwriting.dcooper/.

WWIIMemorialThe National World War II Memorial honors the contributions of over sixteen million members of the U.S. military and the ultimate sacrifices of over 400,000 between December 7th, 1941 and August 15th, 1945. Cool mists and gentle white noise from numerous fountains capture visitors’ attentions and drown the bustle of our nation’s capital city. Bronze plaques display scenes from the era, like the public announcement of the attack on Pearl Harbor. Marble pillars with the names of states and territories surround the site, and two large pavilions mark victories in the Atlantic and Pacific Theaters. The World War II Memorial was dedicated on May 29th, 2004.
